The first InterDirect NordSee event took place on Thursday 28 and Friday 29 June in Amsterdam and Ouderkerk a/d Amstel. During this event, the Swedish, Dutch and later also Norwegian members of IDN enjoyed the warm summer weather, the tasting Dutch beers and above all the interesting presentations and cases. The event started with a beer tasting at the Kek! Craft beer garden, the local brewery of Ouderkerk a/d Amstel. It was great seeing old faces and meeting new ones while enjoying a local beer and some typical Dutch snacks like bitterballen. When everybody was heated by the sun (and also a bit by the alcohol), it was time to cool down on a breezy boat ride on the river Amstel, which took us into the direction of Amsterdam. After 1,5 hours it was time to satisfy our appetite at Ron Gastrobar Indonesia. This restaurant, which is a client of vandenbusken, is founded by culinairy chef Ron Blaauw. Together we shared the well know dish ‘rijsttafel’, small bowls with the most delicious Indonesian and Dutch-Indonesian food. The day ended with a drink at Café De Vrije Handel, the former court house of Ouder-Amstel which is transformed into a ‘gezellig’ café.

The next day it was time to do some serious business by exchanging great ideas and presenting successful cases. Arnout welcomed everybody and showed a short video about the Netherlands and vandenbusken. During the morning session, there were several presentations about cases such as Byggtorget, RAI and Paulig Coffee. After the lunch, vandenbusken presented a special case about Martini and the session ended with a brainstorm about the cross collaboration. To relax before returning home, the InterDirect NordSee event ended with a drink and some finger food at ‘De Banq’.

The event was the perfect way to exchange knowledge, improve the cross collaboration between the Northern countries and above all, have a really good time! Thank you all for participating and we can’t wait for the next InterDirect NordSee event.
